A Date with Sooster
Only three days? A whole three days?
From 12 to 14 October, VAAL Gallery will present Ülo Sooster’s iconic work Easter Egg.
The artist painted it in 1963. In 1968, he gave the work to the Italian collector Giuseppe Mariano and his wife, Elena Ryssina.
And now, almost 60 years later, after making the journey from Rome to Tallinn, the painting has returned to the Sooster family collection.
From 12 to 14 October, VAAL Gallery will also present an exhibition of graphic works from private collections, dedicated to Sooster’s triad: Egg - Juniper - Fish. Also on view will be a video composition created by the Sooster Foundation, with the artist’s graphic works at its centre.
