Fortunate indeed! Both the representatives of the Sooster Foundation who prepared this interview and those who will watch it are truly fortunate—to hear Evi Tihemets’s recollections of Ülo Sooster, of their visits together to the studios of his friends, the avant-garde artists of the 1960s, and of the enduring mystery of his art and personality…
55 years after the death of Ülo Sooster, a limited edition series of his collectible plates has been released. For this project, artist Tenno Sooster, head of the Sooster Foundation, selected a fragment from one of his father’s most iconic paintings, “Landscape with Eyes” (1968). Created in collaboration with the Hopperdietzel Porzellan workshop (Meissen, Germany), the series brings Ülo Sooster’s legacy into a new material.
