October—the month of Ülo Sooster’s birth and death—has drawn to a close. On 25 October of this year, the premiere of “Sooster School” took place in Tartu at Uus Teater. Our applause to director Ivar Põllo and the entire creative team.
Throughout October, the Keila City Library hosted the exhibition “Sooster-101.” Our warm thanks to Ewa-Kaisa Plakk and to all the participants inspired by Ülo Sooster’s work.
These two October events once again affirm the thought of Ilya Kabakov—a renowned artist, Sooster’s contemporary and friend:
"The whole point is that what seems especially mysterious and enigmatic to everyone who knew Ülo, and what many speak about with surprise, is his 'non-disappearance,' his ongoing, almost constant presence, as if he is still here with us..."
