In their work, everything became significant and multilayered in meaning. And if Ülo painted an enormous egg the colour of red-hot iron, there could be no doubt that… it lay on the surface of an unknown planet in some far-off, thirtieth dimension, and that within it, most likely, the embryo of the World Soul was developing.”
Art historian, artist and scenographer Irina Uvarova was a friend of Ülo and Lidia Sooster. She wrote the article “Apple, Fish, Egg” in 1990, twenty years after the artist’s death.
